Reading midfielder Stephen Hunt has insisted that he is happy at the Royals and was delighted to sign a new deal despite the club struggling in the Premiership. His boss Steve Coppell was also delighted to keep hold of the Irish international.
"I'm delighted to sign this new deal and show my commitment to Reading. I enjoy my football here. Now we look to the rest of the season.
"I believe the club can keep going forward in the next few years and I want to play my part in that.
"The contract was all agreed about 10 or 11 days ago. It was just a matter of solicitors sorting everything out."
