West Ham near Pablo Zabaleta signing

Zabaleta to become Hammers' first summer signing

West Ham near Pablo Zabaleta signing

24 May 2017 - 06:08

West Ham United are reportedly nearing their first signing of the summer with Pablo Zabaleta set to agree contractual terms with the east London club.

  • Mauricio Pochettino confirms fresh injury blow for Chelsea star
  • Arsenal want to make four marquee signings this summer

  • The Argentina international bid farewell to the Manchester City faithful earlier last week after it was confirmed that he would be leaving on a Bosman in the summer.

According to The London Evening Standard, the deal could be wrapped up by the end of the week with Zabaleta due in the English capital to sign a two-year contract.

The 32-year-old has been a brilliant servant for the Citizens over the years, and he recently hinted that it would be hard to feature against the Mancunian giants next season.

West Ham boss Slaven Bilic has had to utilise the services of Cheikhou Kouyate and Michail Antonio in the right-back spot this season, and this has urged him to move for a specialist in the position.

Zabaleta has also received interest from the cash-rich AC Milan, and he appears to made his mind up to prolong his Premier League stay.
