Lyon's president Jean-Michel Aulas has confirmed that Arsenal has tabled a big-money offer for Alexandre Lacazette. The French international has been linked with a move to the Gunners for over three years.
The 26-year-old striker has reportedly been on Arsene Wenger's transfer radar since 2014 and the Gunners have had several bids rejected for the versatile forward. Lacazette, comfortable playing on either flank or on his own up front, has been compared to Arsenal club legend Thierry Henry in recent times.
"Alexandre Lacazette was told he could leave. We had negotiations with Atletico. Things did not work out," Aulas is quoted as saying in comments with Daily Express
"We now have a very nice offer from Arsenal. I want our relationship with Alex to be positive. He could have left but it wasn’t possible. But for us, he won’t leave."
Arsenal has reportedly bid £65 million in their newest offer for the French striker. Lyon is seeking a fee closer to £80 million according to reports from France.
