Kurt Zouma: headed for Chelsea exit door?

Chelsea defender set for Sevilla move?

17 June 2017 - 06:19

Chelsea's out of favour defender Kurt Zouma has been linked with a transfer switch to Sevilla. The centre-back, who previously played in Ligue 1 with St Etienne, could make a transfer move to Spain worth approximately 18 million euros.

  • Zouma, who has only recently fought his way back from long-term injury, has been frustrated in his attempts to force Gary Cahill and David Luiz out of the Chelsea first team. Chelsea's Premier League winning campaign was built on the successes of their impressive defensive line up and Zouma has reportedly told his agent that in order to progress and develop he will need to leave Stamford Bridge in search of regular first team football.

Sevilla had reportedly been in contact with Chelsea representatives regarding a move for Zouma as far back as January but had been stalled in their efforts to sign the defender. The La Liga side is to make a second bid for Zouma this summer and will break the bank to sign the player if he is available. A move on loan to Spain is also a possible option.

Other clubs known to be interested in Zouma include French side Paris St Germain, Serie A giants AC Milan and German outfit Borussia Dortmund.
