Arsenal have reportedly made a formal offer to sign unsettled Barcelona winger Arda Turan in the summer. The Turkish footballer has already agreed to personal terms with the north London club.

  • Spanish publication Marca claims that the Gunners have revived their long-term interest in Turan by lodging an opening £26m bid for the attacker.

Turan's representative brushed off speculation over his client's future earlier last month, but this has not diminished the ongoing interest.

Barca boss Ernesto Valverde is looking to recoup sufficient funds to lodge a club-record bid for Marco Verratti, and this could result in the potential sale of Turan, who is deemed surplus to requirements.

Nevertheless, the Gunners are likely to face competition from Serie A giants Inter Milan, who are hoping to add more experience to their frontline as they seek to claim a top-four finish next term.

Turan managed to amass 13 goals and six assists last season despite making just 20 starts across all competitions for the Camp Nou outfit.
