Arsenal and West Brom have agreed on a transfer fee for Northern Ireland international defender Jonny Evans. The Gunners are now in pole position to sign the WBA centre-back.
Reports from The Sun this morning claim that Jonny Evans looks set to leave the Baggies and will join Arsenal in a deal worth £25 million as a replacement for Shkrodan Mustafi, who will join Inter Milan on a season-long loan deal.
Evans, formerly of Man Utd, has told Tony Pulis and WBA club bosses that he wants to leave the club in favour of a move to a bigger team. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger wants to build a new look defence around Evans, a defender he has admired for many seasons.
According to multiple reports, Evans will be offered a four year deal at the Emirates and a deal will be completed this afternoon for the centre-back, becoming the Gunners' third high profile transfer move of the summer alongside Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac.
