Premier League holders Chelsea are reportedly leading the pursuit of unsettled Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani. The Uruguay international was involved in an early spat with Neymar during his side's 2-0 victory over Lyon after they argued over who would take the penalty.
It is understood that the dispute continued in the dressing room, and the pair had to be separated in order to avoid further incidents. Unai Emery has since snubbed talks of an altercation between his leading frontmen, though Cavani is not entirely pleased with the situation.
According to The Sun, the Blues have emerged as favourite to pursue Cavani, should he decide to move on from Parc des Princes in the New Year. Diego Costa ended his long transfer saga by sealing a move to Atletico Madrid earlier this week, and Antonio Conte is said to be on the search for another marksman.
Both Neymar and Cavani looked in good mood together during the 3-0 Champions League triumph over Bayern Munich, and it will be interesting to see how their relationship continues, should another spot-kick arise in the future.
