Real Madrid planning to break transfer record for Harry Kane?

04 October 2017 - 09:45

Real Madrid could reportedly shatter their transfer record by a fair margin to sign Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane in the future.

  • Chelsea have discussed move for Alejandro Garnacho
  • Newcastle make bid for Chelsea defender

  • The England international has finished as the Premier League's top-scorer in the past two seasons, and he looks on course to replicate his showing with six goals in just seven outings this term.

Kane has also emerged as the top goal-getter in the Champions League with five strikes in two appearances this term, and this has urged Los Blancos to step up their pursuit of his services.

According to Don Balon, the La Liga and European champions are prepared to break their transfer record by lodging a £177m bid for the 24-year-old marksman.

Karim Benzema only recently signed a four-year deal with Zinedine Zidane's side, but they have identified Kane as a long-term replacement for the France international.

Kane has been urged by several pundits to leave Spurs of late, but Mauricio Pochettino recently cited that the striker does not need to win silverware to be termed as 'world-class'.

Gareth Bale is currently Real Madrid's most-expensive recruit having arrived from Tottenham Hotspur for £85.3m back in the summer of 2013.
