Arsenal centre-back Shkodran Mustafi has insisted that he is content at the Emirates Stadium despite the recent criticism over his performances at the club.
The Germany international was hugely criticised for his showing in the 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United, but the centre-back has since responded positively by stressing that he is happy at the club.
"I am thankful I can play at such a club. I want to play where I am happy," he told Kicker. "And I am happy here. Even more so because I usually started when I was fit."
"I don't really follow [the criticism]. But that's also not necessary because I am my greatest critic. And it is like it is. People prefer to talk about negative things."
The former Valencia man has been a constant figure at the heart of the Gunners defence in recent times but there is expected to be some movement in terms of transfers during the summer.
Standing captain Laurent Koscielny has entered the latter stage of his professional career and the Gunners are likely to seek a fresh competitor in their ranks under whomever is in charge after Arsene Wenger.
