Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho has urged the club to pursue a move for Emre Can, who appears likely to leave Liverpool on a Bosman this summer.
The Germany international has been reluctant to extend his Reds contract this season and this has attracted interest from the likes of Juventus and Bayern Munich, who are keen on discussing a pre-contract.
However, according to Don Balon, Coutinho wants his former teammate at the Camp Nou considering the club could be without both Andres Iniesta and Andre Gomes ahead of next term.
Iniesta has already announced his decision to leave Barcelona at the end of the season whilst Gomes is said to be considering his position after an unfruitful 18-month period in Catalonia.
Can has been struggling with a back problem over the past one month and this may likely sideline him for the rest of the season. He is still expected to make Germany's squad for the summer World Cup.
