Chelsea have moved a step closer to naming Maurizio Sarri as their coach for the 2018-19 season, having reportedly agreed a 5 million euro per year contract with the Italian coach, who stepped down from his position as Napoli manager last week. Chelsea are believed to be in talks with current manager Antonio Conte regarding his release package.
Chelsea's board have grown increasingly frustrated with manager Antonio Conte, despite the Italian leading the Blues to the Premier League title last campaign. A dismal season appears to have been the final nail in the coffin for Conte.
With Napoli having appointed Carlo Ancelotti as their new coach this week, it is understood that Chelsea have officially agreed terms with Maurizio Sarri as their new manager for the new season.
Sarri, who has brought exciting, attacking football to Napoli, who finished second in Serie A, is considered one of the best managers in world football at this time. Sarri will reportedly be offered a two year deal at Stamford Bridge.
