Manchester United end interest in Tottenham Hotspur defender

Danny Rose not on United radar

Manchester United end interest in Tottenham Hotspur defender

13 June 2018 - 10:00

Manchester United have reportedly pulled out of the race to sign Tottenham Hotspur left-back Danny Rose during this summer's transfer window.

  • Chelsea suffer double injury blow ahead of Villa trip
  • Mikel Arteta confirms big injury boost for Spurs clash

  • The Red Devils have been tipped to sign a new left-sided defender since the start of the transfer window but so far, they have shown little intention to pursue one.

Mourinho is obviously content with Ashley Young slotting into the left side of the backline and with Luke Shaw to provide back-up, the Portuguese is obviously content with the options at hand.

According to The Telegraph, Mourinho has shelved United's plans to sign Alex Sandro owing to Juventus' hefty asking price and the same goes for Rose with the club now prioritising the signing of a new centre-back.

Tottenham's Toby Alderweireld is the prime target for United for the summer transfer window but Sevilla's Clement Lenglet is also regarded as a possible option.

Meanwhile for Rose, he may have to wait on potential interest from foreign clubs, if he is to pursue a fresh challenge away from Spurs. The Englishman played second fiddle to Ben Davies for most of the previous campaign.
