Everton and England international goalkeeper Jordan Pickford is confident that a successful tournament at the World Cup in Russia will ensure that he is the national team first choice keeper for a long time to come. Pickford has replaced Joe Hart as manager Gareth Southgate\'s preferred goalkeeper.

  • The only way you are going to get more experience in World Cups or European Championships is by actually playing in them. At some time you have got to play in your first one. So why not now? I cannot wait. My debut at Wembley against Germany was sold out, a 90,000 crowd. That was new to me but I embraced it and used that atmosphere to make me better,\" Pickford told reporters.

The 22-year-old has been a revelation since bursting on the scene in the Premier League. Last season Pickford made the move from Sunderland to Everton, making him the most expensive teenage goalkeeper in history.

Pickford is preferred to Jack Butland as England\'s number 1 for the World Cup.
