  • Unai Emery's first plan as manager had been to sign his existing first-team down to new contracts at the club and so far so good, excluding the deal of Aaron Ramsey which appears to be dragging into the month of September as the Welshman has yet to have agreed on a fresh deal at the club.

However, Nigerian international Iwobi has decided that he will continue to represent the Gunners and has agreed on a fresh contract.

It had been rumoured that Iwobi could depart on loan for the upcoming campaign to a rival Premier League side, but the new contract is sure to put that rumour to bed with new manager Unai Emery reportedly informing Iwobi that he will either be in, or around, the Arsenal first team this campaign.
