Sevilla eye move for Chelsea striker Batshuayi

24-year-old Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi could be set for a temporary move to Spanish club Sevilla this summer. The talented Belgium international, who spent last season on loan with Borussia Dortmund, has been deemed surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge and will depart for pastures new yet again this campaign.

  • The highly-rated forward has yet to have forced his way into Chelsea's starting line-up on a regular basis, partly because of the impressive form of the likes of Willian and Eden Hazard but also because newly appointed boss Maurizio Sarri prefers Spanish forward Alvaro Morata to Batshuayi.

Sevilla are on the market for a new striker and have identified Belgian forward Batshuayi as the ideal acquisition but could not afford to pay the reported 30 million euro transfer fee demanded by the Blues. Instead, it is understood Sevilla will pay 1.5 million euros per season to sign Batshuayi on loan for a minimum of 12 months but with the option of a second year added in to the deal.
