Jurgen Klopp admits players will still leave Liverpool

10 August 2018 - 11:40

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has acknowledged that there will be potential exits from Anfield despite the Reds no longer being able to spend in the transfer market.

  • Chelsea make first move to sign Xabi Alonso
  • Chelsea ready new contract for star midfielder
  • The Merseyside giants spent over £160m on the likes of Naby Keita, Fabinho, Xherdan Shaqiri and Alisson Becker during the recent transfer window and Klopp has now confirmed that the club will seek to trim the first-team squad.

Speaking in his pre-match press-conference, Klopp admitted that the club have a surplus number of players for the new campaign and it is 'clear' that there will be potential exits before the transfer window closes overseas.

Belgium goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has been tipped heavily to pursue a fresh challenge away from Anfield whilst Dominic Solanke could also head through the exit door with Rangers interested in a loan deal for his services.

Aside from them, Lazar Markovic has been associated with a permanent Anfield exit whilst young graduate Sheyi Ojo may be loaned out to a Championship outfit.
