Real Madrid boss Julen Lopetegui could reportedly make an attempt to sign Marcos Alonso from Chelsea before the transfer deadline this month.
The European champions have already bolstered their backline this summer with the signing of right-back Alvaro Odriozola and they are now said to be keen on strengthening the opposite flank.
According to Don Balon, Lopetegui is keen to add more competition for places after witnessing a leaky defence in the European Super Cup and Alonso has been highlighted as the prime target.
The Spain international begun his professional career with Real Madrid where he made just a solitary league appearance and he has since featured for the likes of Fiorentino and Bolton before heading to Stamford Bridge.
At present, the Blues are not permitted to pursue any players with the English transfer deadline having passed and they are unlikely to consider any offers for Alonso regardless of the transfer sum on the table.
