Manchester United receive triple injury boost for Spurs game

Manchester United have received a triple injury boost for Monday night's league clash against Tottenham Hotspur.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • In a report covered by United's official website, Mourinho confirmed that the trio of Alexis Sanchez, Nemanja Matic and Antonio Valencia have returned to training, thereby placing them in contention for the Spurs game.

Meanwhile, the Portuguese tactician indicated that summer signing Diogo Dalot is also close to returning to full fitness after his knee surgery and the right-back could feature for United following the international break.

United are presently occupying a mid-table position in the league standings after they suffered a rather shock 3-2 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend.

Next up, the Mancunian giants have a league fixture scheduled against Spurs on Monday but a victory is far from certain, given their defensive woes in the opening two games.

Eric Bailly, in particular, came for criticism from the fans after the Brighton defeat and it will be interesting to see whether he is replaced by either Phil Jones or Chris Smalling in the starting lineup versus Spurs.
