United confident of keeping Pogba for the long-term

07 September 2018 - 09:58

Manchester United are confident they can convince Paul Pogba to remain Old Trafford for the long haul, according to ESPN.

  • Chelsea quoted price to sign Igor Thiago
  • Chelsea make Joao Pedro transfer decision

  • Despite this belief, the club will delay plans to discuss a new contract with the player who is currently unsettled at the Theatre of Dreams.

Pogba has reportedly ruled out a move away from United in January, but could push for a move away from Old Trafford next summer.

United will be hoping things get better between the player and the club in the coming months in order to make it easy for them to convince him to remain.

Pogba recently cast doubt over his long-term Manchester United future, saying that anything can happen regarding a transfer away from Old Trafford in the coming months.

Pogba has three years remaining in his United deal and is into his third season since he joined the Old Trafford side from Juventus in 2016.

Pogba featured for France in their goalless draw with Germany in the UEFA Nations League on Thursday.
