Klopp provides injury news ahead of PSG game

17 September 2018 - 13:52

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has cast doubt over the fitness of Divock Origi and Dominic Solanke ahead his side's UEFA Champions League opener against Paris Saint-Germain.

  • Chelsea in contact to sign Ousmane Diomande
  • Arne Slot reveals when Alexander Isak could return for Liverpool
  • Both players sustained injuries in Liverpool's Under-23s 3-0 victory over Swansea City last Saturday and are unlikely to feature on Tuesday.

Speaking ahead of the game on Tuesday, Klopp said, Liverpoolfc.com reports: “It’s not too serious. Div has a little bit of an ankle [injury]. He tried this morning and didn’t really work out too well, so he will try again tomorrow morning. With Dom, we have to see. He got a knock and we will see how that develops."

Roberto Firmino is also expected to miss the game against the French champions after sustaining an eye injury in Liverpool's 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur last Saturday.

Apart from the aforementioned players, Liverpool have a fit squad to pursue the Champions League game at Anfield.

The Reds are on the back of a very impressive start to the season and are expected to put up a good fight against a PSG side that also boast of some of the best players in Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

PSG are also having a good season so far. They have won their first five league games this season.
