Tottenham Hotspur suffer fresh injury blow with Dele Alli

29 September 2018 - 00:11

Tottenham Hotspur have suffered a fresh injury blow with midfielder Dele Alli, who has been sidelined for a month after sustaining a recurrence of his hamstring problem.

  • Man Utd expecting €80m boost with double player sale
  • Man Utd set for big injury boost vs Bournemouth
  • The England international recently recovered from a hamstring niggle to feature from the bench against Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League and he thereafter played the entire 90 minutes of the midweek League Cup tie against Watford.

However, according to The Sun, Alli is now said to have suffered another recurrence of the same problem in training and he is now expected to require the best part of a month for his recovery.

As such, Alli is expected to miss the immediate Premier League games against Huddersfield Town and Cardiff City as well as the crunch Champions League clash versus Barcelona

His injury will also certainly see him miss England's Nations League games versus Spain and Croatia during the next international break and this certainly provides a selection headache for Gareth Southgate, who has previously complained about the lack of creativity in the midfield.
