Leicester City lining up move for Liverpool defender

Leicester City are reportedly looking into a move for Liverpool defender Nathaniel Clyne as they seek to add more competition on the right side of the defence.

  • Arsenal & Chelsea battling to sign Ajax defender

  • The 27-year-old has recently recovered from a long-term back problem which saw him miss nearly the majority of the previous season and that has had an effect on his starting role.

The likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez are presently ahead of him in the pecking order for the right-back spot and The Sun suggests that Clyne could be tempted by a fresh challenge in the New Year.

Claude Puel's side are currently said to be leading the race to sign the former Southampton man with the manager keen on adding more competition to the likes of Ricardo Pereira and Daniel Amartey.

Clyne has made 76 league appearances for Liverpool since joining them from Southampton for a £12.5m fee three years ago. He has yet to make an appearance in the top-flight this term.
