Chelsea considering move for Serie A striker

20 October 2018 - 17:26

Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi has reportedly been emerged as a prime target for Chelsea as they seek to bolster their forward ranks during the winter transfer window.

  • Chelsea urged to sign Man City star on free transfer
  • Chelsea squad want Xabi Alonso as manager
  • Blues boss Maurizio Sarri currently has Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud at his disposal but neither player has been impressive leading the line for the club.

Amidst this, Sarri is deemed to have already begun the hunt for a new marksman and The Sun reports that Icardi could be the player pursued during the winter period.

Icardi has been a consistent scorer for the Nerazzurri over the past five years with 103 goals from 165 Serie A appearances and The Sun suggests that the Nerazzurri could demand a £90m package for the January sale.

Aside from Icardi, Chelsea are also said to have an eye on AC Milan's Patrick Cutrone, who could be available for just half of the valuation of the Argentina international this winter.
