Shevchenko linked with Kiev

23 August 2007 - 20:44

Andrei Shevchenko is being linked with a move back to his old club Dinamo Kiev. Although the move is unlikely to be accepted by Chelsea, Kiev have offered to pay all of Shevchenko's wages if they can take the player on loan.

  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts
  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players

  • Shevchenko is known to be unhappy at Chelsea, and his form in his first season at the club was less than impressive.

Dinamo Kiev's president, Igor Surkis exclaimed, "I said in every interview that there was a possibility that Shevchenko wouldn't play well for Chelsea. I've asked Shevchenko to ask his board to let him go to Dinamo on loan."

Any such move is very likely to be rejected by Chelsea who will be hopeful of recouping some of the £23m they paid for the Ukrainian striker.
