Manchester United have reportedly prolonged David de Gea's stay until the summer of 2020 after triggering the one-year extension clause available on his existing deal.
The Spain international has been hugely influential towards the Red Devils' performances over the years and he has won the club's Player of the Year in four of the previous five campaigns.
According to PA Sport, the Mancunian giants have decided to trigger the 12-month option available on his contract amid the interest from the likes of Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain in recent months.
De Gea has regularly cited that he is content with the proceedings with the Red Devils but there has still not been much progress in terms of a new long-term deal.
However, United boss Jose Mourinho has recently confirmed that an extension may not be far away and it remains to be seen whether the Spaniard feels the same way with regards to a probable renewal.
