Jose Mourinho provides injury update on Anthony Martial

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has indicated that Anthony Martial could feature in the matchday squad when the Red Devils entertain Fulham in the Premier League this weekend.

  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs
  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • The France international started from the off against Unai Emery's Arsenal on Wednesday night and he scored one of United's goals in the 2-2 Premier League draw.

However, his appearance on the field lasted for just over an hour after sustaining an injury from a challenge from Sead Kolasinac, but Mourinho has suggested that there is nothing serious.

Speaking after the game, Mourinho revealed that the Frenchman was brought off due to a 'pre-injury' which the marksman did not want to take a risk with during the final 30 minutes of the game.

"He doesn't think it is an injury. He thinks it's a pre-injury, he was feeling tight," the Portuguese tactician was quoted as saying by Sky Sports News following the game.

Martial has been United's standout performer since the start of October and the midweek goal against Arsenal was his eighth of the season with seven of those coming in the Premier League.
