Unai Emery reacts after north London derby draw

02 March 2019 - 20:09

Arsenal manager Unai Emery has said that he is pleased with the 1-1 draw during Saturday's north London derby against Tottenham Hotspur at the Wembley stadium.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • The Gunners went into the game with the chance to close the four-point gap to third-placed Spurs with a victory, but they failed to do so after Harry Kane cancelled off Aaron Ramsey's first half strike through a penalty kick.

Speaking after the game, Emery told reporters that he is satisfied with the outcome despite Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang missing the Gunners' penalty late on while several refereeing decisions went against them.

"We had a lot of chances, we had the penalty at the end but what we always say, we win together and we lose together so I am very happy with this point and we look for the next three points," he was quoted by the club's official website.

With the stalemate, Arsenal have relinquished their fourth position to Manchester United, who are holding a slender one-point gap over them. They can, however, seek to reclaim the spot when the Red Devils make the Emirates trip next weekend.
