Maurizio Sarri speaks on Gonzalo Higuains future at Chelsea

Sarri confident of Higuain stay?

Maurizio Sarri speaks on Gonzalo Higuain's future at Chelsea

29 April 2019 - 08:41

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has hinted that Gonzalo Higuain will be remaining with the club despite struggling to make an impact on the club proceedings.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • The Argentine joined the Blues on a season-long loan from Juventus last winter shortly after Alvaro Morata made the switch to Spanish giants Atletico Madrid.

Higuain has since managed just four goals from 14 appearances for the side but Sarri remains confident that the marksman will adapt to the demands of the Premier League next season.

"In theory, yes. It's difficult to adapt to the Premier League. I think in the next season he will be able to score a lot," he was quoted as saying by Sky Sports following the Manchester United game.

Higuain had a frustrating match against Manchester United on Sunday where he was caught offside on numerous occasions. Still, he missed the best chance of the game in the dying seconds which should have handed the Blues with maximum points.
