United in for Lille's Pepe

Manchester United join the race to sign £70m-rated Ligue 1 winger

Manchester United have reportedly joined the likes of Arsenal and Bayern Munich in the race to sign Nicolas Pepe from Lille this summer.

  • Arsenal handed injury boost on defender ahead of Bournemouth clash
  • Chelsea planning shock move for Man City winger?

  • The 23-year-old has enjoyed a standout campaign for Lille and his tally of 20 goals and 11 assists in the French Ligue 1 has helped the side return to the Champions League next term.

The likes of Arsenal and Bayern have already been credited with an interest in the Ivorian but according to L'Equipe, United seem to have joined the pursuit as they seek to strengthen the wider attacking department.

Still, the attacker won't come on the cheap this summer and United may have to cough up a fee in the region of £70m in order to convince Lille into a transfer agreement.

United are understood to have already begun their pursuit of new recruits for next season and a recent report from Evening Standard has claimed that they are close to signing Daniel James from Swansea City.
