Manchester United want Arsenal striker to replace Romelu Lukaku?

18 July 2019 - 17:55

Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has reportedly been earmarked as a potential target for Manchester United, should they part ways with Romelu Lukaku this summer.

  • Pep Guardiola comments on Cole Palmer's success at Chelsea
  • English striker wants £250k-a-week to join Man Utd

  • The Gabon international was earlier linked with the Red Devils this summer and the speculation has re-emerged with Lukaku seemingly close to joining Inter Milan.

According to FC Inter News, the Nerazzurri are close to reaching an agreement for the services of Lukaku and an agreement may witness United enter the transfer market for another marksman.

The same publication claims that Aubameyang has been identified as the prime target and the club would be willing to pay as much as £62m to tempt the Gunners into a sale.

Arsenal are working on a limited £45m budget for the summer and there have been reports suggesting that they may have to part ways with a few first-team players to increase the kitty.

Still, it would come as a huge surprise if they are to consider the sale of Aubameyang, who was their standout scorer last season with 31 goals across all competitions.
