Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater has been linked with a transfer move to Brighton and Hove Albion this week on a season long loan deal. The England international has been informed that he is not needed at Stamford Bridge this upcoming season and could now depart the club on a temporary basis.
The Blues are ready to listen to any offers for Drinkwater, where their valuation currently stands at around £7.5 million for the former Leicester City man.
Drinkwater will be allowed to leave on loan to Brighton where new manager Graham Potter has been busy revamping his squad, having already brought in Adam Webster for a £20 million transfer fee this summer.
29-year-old Drinkwater played in just one game last season for the Blues and has three years left on his contract worth a reported £100,000 per week and it is understood that the Blues will contribute at least half of that amount for the duration of the player's loan in order to help the player find first-team football elsewhere.
