Liverpool grabbed an important 3 points in the away victory at Sunderland with goals from Voronin and Sissoko's first goal for the club. Elsewhere, Chelsea beat Birmingham 1-0, Villa beat Fulham 2-1 and Bolton scored an impressive 3-0 victory against Reading.

  • Two late goals in the West Ham 1-1 Wigan game from Scharner and a late leveller from Bowyer were enough for each side to take a share of the points.



    The performance of the day came from Bolton, who managed to defeat Reading 3-0 to ease the pressure off of Sammy Lee. Speed, Anelka and Braaten all were on the scoresheet and Jaaskelainen was impressive in the Bolton goal.



    Chelsea hung on for a 1-0 victory against Portsmouth thanks to a 31st minute goal from Frank Lampard.



    Shaun Maloney scored a late, late goal for Aston Villa as they defeated Fulham 2-1. Dempsey scored an early goal for Fulham, but it was not enough as Ashley Young scored a great goal for Villa. Shaun Maloney came off the bench to score and wrap up an excellent result for the Villains.
