Calum Chambers reacts after Arsenal's stunning comeback win over Aston Villa

Arsenal defender Calum Chambers has hailed the fighting spirit from the side after they secured a stellar 3-2 comeback win over Aston Villa with 10 men.

  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • The Villains took the lead through John McGinn in the first half after another defensive mishap from the Gunners and things became worse before the break as Ainsley Maitland-Niles was sent off for two yellow cards offences.

To cover Maitland-Niles' sending off, Chambers was brought on in the right-back spot at the expense of Bukayo Saka and the England international made a key difference in the game.

Chambers was guilty of squandering possession at 1-1 which contributed to the Villains scoring for the second time in the match but he made up for the same with a sublime finish in the 81st minute to level the proceedings.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's sublime free-kick three minutes later sealed the victory for the Gunners and this has taken the club back into the top four of the Premier League.

Speaking after the game, Chambers admitted that he made the mistake in the lead up to the second goal but he is glad that he could put things right and contribute towards the win.

"I am very pleased. I hold my hand up to their second goal so I had to put things right. ‘We stuck in there and worked hard and deserved it in the end," he told Sky Sports.
