Arsenal to miss out on Ceballos

Arsenal receive transfer blow on Dani Ceballos

26 October 2019 - 17:43

Arsenal's hopes of signing Dani Ceballos on a permanent basis have taken a dent with Real Madrid planning to use his services during the 2020/21 season.

  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal
  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • The Spain international was not assured with regular gametime under Zinedine Zidane for the ongoing campaign and that saw him make the move to the Gunners on a season-long loan.

He has since been a success with two assists and one goal from 13 appearances and there has recently been speculation that the Gunners may seek to sign him permanently.

However, according to AS, that does not appear the case and Los Blancos are likely to involve the midfielder in their first-team plans for the next campaign and beyond.

Luka Modric's long-term future at the Bernabeu has come under question in recent months and the same seems the case with Toni Kroos, who has been touted for an exit despite signing a long-term deal over the summer.

Ceballos played only 45 minutes of the recent 3-2 win over Vitoria in the Europa League and he is likely to feature from the starting lineup against Crystal Palace on Sunday.
