Tottenham defender Jonathan Woodgate believes he made the right decision in snubbing Newcastle to join Spurs in January. Woodgate helped Tottenham to a Carling Cup victory, while Newcastle have struggled at the wrong end of the Premiership.
"I just wanted a totally new challenge,â Woodgate told the Daily Mail. "If I had signed for Newcastle United, I would have just been in the same surroundings. I didn't want to get stale. I am 28 now.
âNewcastle United are going to be a good side in a few years but things can move faster at Spurs.
âI know I have made the right decision."
