Carra ready for big three

Carra ready for 'big three'

30 March 2008 - 11:02

Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher is anxiously waiting for the Reds' triple header against Arsenal in the Champions League and Premiership starting on Wednesday evening, and believes this is the point that will 'make or break' their season.

  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal
  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • “There’s always a point at this time of year where you look at the fixtures and you see four or five games together which will basically decide how the season will go - it’s the same now,” he told The News of the World.

“We’re used to coping with these demanding schedules. This is a make-or-break spell - we all realise that - but I’m sure our pedigree in coping with these situations will stand us in good stead.

“In recent years we’ve always been there or thereabouts in the cup competitions. You can go as far as the 2001 season when every match was like a cup final.

“I also think back to 2005 and can see the similarities when things didn’t go well in the league, but the only thing that sticks in anyone’s mind is that we won The European Cup.

“If we were to repeat that, nobody will be talking about anything else.”
