Arsenal are reportedly prepared to make a fresh approach for Manchester City's Mikel Arteta as they aim to recruit a permanent head coach in the coming days.
Arteta, who is the assistant manager at the Cityzens, was in consideration for the managerial role at the Emirates after the departure of Arsene Wenger last year but the Gunners decided to appoint Unai Emery instead.
That has certainly not worked out with the Spaniard being dismissed after just 18 months in charge and the north London giants have now started the search for a new manager.
According to The Indepenent, the Gunners plan to make another pitch for their former midfielder, who has been the assistant to Pep Guardiola for the past three years.
Guardiola has clearly mentioned that Arteta won't be parting ways with the club at the midway stage of the season but the Gunners still remain optimistic of convincing him to take up his first managerial job with them.
