According to reports from France Football, German international goalkeeper Manuel Neuer could be one of the names at the top of Juventus’s summer shopping list.
The journal claims that the arrival at Bayern Munich next summer of Schalke 04’s Alexander Nübel, the player widely tipped to take over from Neuer as Germany’s number one shot-stopper, will hasten the departure of the 33-year-old custodian, who has been with the Bavarian giants since 2011.
Neuer has a contract with Bayern until June 2021, but the player has recently dropped hints that he would like to sample a new experience whilst he remains at the top level of the sport. Juventus have already been linked with a summer move for Milan and Italy number one Gianluigi Donnarumma, who, like Nübel, is seen as the natural heir to his country’s most decorated keeper, Gianluigi Buffon.
The Bianconeri’s current number one is Polish international Wojciech Szczesny who himself has a deal with Juventus until 2021. The former Arsenal custodian will not want to drop down the pecking order at the Allianz Stadium however, having made the position his own since his £12.6M move in the summer of 2017.
