Bayern want to take back Douglas Costa on loan

Bayern eye loan move for Juventus outcast

22 January 2020 - 14:35

According to Daily Mail, Bayer Munich are willing to take back Juventus star Douglas Costa on a loan deal.

  • Chelsea join Liverpool & Man Utd in race to sign 26yo
  • Barcelona identify Arsenal midfielder as key transfer target

  • The Brazilian has never had the privilege of being the unanimous starter for the Bianconeri as he has fallen down the pecking order of Maurizio Sarri. He has made only 10 appearances in Serie A this season, providing three assists.

The 29-year-old was also overlooked by Max Allegri last term as he was restricted to only 17 appearances in Serie A despite making a good impression in the 17/18 season.

Bayern are now willing to take back their former star on a loan deal after letting him go in 2017.

Costa represented the Bavarians for two straight seasons after getting signed in 2015. Despite being a highly-talented forward, the former Shakhtar Donetsk man has never lived up to his full potential over the course due to a long history of injuries.

Bayern have also signed Real Madrid right-back Alvaro Odriozola on a loan deal for the remainder of the season.
