Manchester United finally agree deal to sign Bruno Fernandes

28 January 2020 - 20:01

Manchester United have finally reached an agreement with Sporting Lisbon to secure the services of Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes.

  • Chelsea urged to sign Man City star on free transfer
  • Chelsea squad want Xabi Alonso as manager
  • The 25-year-old has been constantly linked with the club over the past few week but United were supposedly reluctant to meet the £68m price tag set by Sporting.

A report earlier in the day suggested that Barcelona could steal the race to sign the former Sampdoria man but Goal.com now reports that United are set to sign the playmaker ahead of Friday's transfer deadline.

The Red Devils have agreed on an initial fee of around £47m for the former Sampdoria man and the overall transfer package could rise to £68m with the add-ons involved.

From the add-ons, around £8.5m will be based on the performances of the player while the remaining sum depends on United winning domestic and European titles.

Fernandes is scheduled to arrive for a medical at the Carrington base tomorrow, provided Sporting don't raise any fresh concerns regarding the structure of the transfer package.
