Chelsea receive boost in signing Telles

Chelsea handed boost in signing Brazilian defender

02 April 2020 - 15:44

Chelsea have reportedly been handed a boost in their pursuit of Porto defender Alex Telles.

  • Juventus and Napoli enter race for Chelsea winger
  • Felix Nmecha linked with Chelsea move

  • The Blues are looking to sign a new left-back during the next transfer window, given they are likely to part ways with either Marcos Alonso or Emerson Palmieri.

Telles has been earmarked as one of the possible targets for the Blues and Record claims that their chances of signing him have been made easier with the defender appointing Pini Zahavi as his representative.

Zahavi has been pivotal to a number of Premier League transfers over the years and reports claim that the Blues are optimistic that they can find the breakthrough in the forthcoming negotiations.

Porto have failed to renew Telles' contract beyond the 2020/21 campaign and they are expected to sanction his departure when the transfer window reopens at the end of the season.

Telles currently has a £35m release clause on his contract and Porto are reluctant to accept anything less than the figure. Barcelona are also said to be keeping tabs on the Brazilian.
