Arsenal willing to part ways with French striker

Arsenal are reportedly open to parting ways with Alexandre Lacazette, who has struggled for form during the course of the current campaign.

  • The Frenchman has been inconsistent with his displays in the current season and he has netted only nine times for the club from 26 appearances.

As a result, he has failed to command a regular starting role under Mikel Arteta and AS claims that he could be shown the exit door at the end of the season.

Lacazette currently has more than two years remaining in his Gunners deal and the club's hierarchy are still in a good position to demand a sizeable fee for his sale.

Atletico Madrid are obviously the main admirers for the France international and they were keen on signing him from Lyon three years ago before they were imposed with a transfer ban by FIFA.

The Spanish outfit recently made the headlines by beating holders Liverpool in the Champions League round of 16 stage. Despite this, they have lacked goals in the team and have netted only 31 times from 27 league games.

Apart from Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could also leave the Gunners during the summer. The forward has been reluctant to extend his contract beyond June 2021.
