Manchester United make Jack Grealish U-turn?

Manchester United have reportedly decided to switch their focus away from Jack Grealish as they seek to sign a new holding midfielder.

  • The 24-year-old has been regularly linked with the Red Devils this year and a recent report claimed that the club are close to finalising a summer deal for his services.

However, The Athletic's David Ornstein has revealed that United are not prioritising the signing of Grealish and they would prefer to sign a defensive midfielder instead.

Nemanja Matic, Fred and Scott McTominay are presently the options at hand for the holding midfield role but the former is likely to head through the exit door by the end of next season.

United have recently been credited with an interest in signing Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid. The Ghana international has a £44m release clause on his contract.

Meanwhile, Grealish is said to be determined to pursue a fresh challenge away from the Villains, particularly if they are relegated from the Premier League. Everton have recently been linked with his signature.
