Arsenal have reportedly joined West Ham United in the race to sign Serhou Guirassy, who is currently in the ranks of Amiens.

  • The 24-year-old joined Amiens from Koln last summer and he was able to contribute nine goals and one assists from 23 Ligue 1 appearances before the season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 threat.

His efforts, however, were not sufficient to keep them in the top-flight and the club are now likely to sanction his sale to boost their financial condition.

According to The Mail, Guirassy could be available for a knockdown price this summer and that has caught the eye of the Gunners, whose transfer plans have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

Guirassy does not have an overly impressive goalscoring record in his career but manager Mikel Arteta is deemed to be eyeing a new striker with a strong aerial presence in the box.

Meanwhile, there are currently doubts regarding the futures of both Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette at the Emirates. The former has been reluctant to sign a new deal despite his contract expiring in 13 months' time.
