Mohamed Elneny has expressed his delight after Arsenal ended their long wait for a Premier League victory at Old Trafford.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • The Gunners had not beaten the Red Devils on the road since 2006, but they ended the wretched run with a 1-0 win on Sunday.

Elneny was a surprise starter ahead of Granit Xhaka in the midfield, but he proved his worth with a tireless performance.

The Egyptian and Thomas Partey controlled the proceedings in the centre of the park and speaking after the game, he was delighted with the win.

"It feels really amazing, I feel really happy. It is special to win against Manchester United here," He told Sky Sports.

We know it is a long time since we won here. We gave 100 per cent and everyone worked really hard for it."

Elneny found himself out of favour under former boss Unai Emery last term and he was loaned out to Besiktas for the season.

He has, however, regained a first-team spot under Mikel Arteta and judging by his United display, he can be fancied to start regularly.
