Chelsea's Kai Havertz in self-isolation after testing positive for COVID-19

04 November 2020 - 21:39

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has confirmed that Kai Havertz has tested positive for COVID-19.

  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players
  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts

  • The German has produced a mixed bag of performances in his debut season for the Blues, but he has still registered four goals and three assists from 10 games.

He was likely to make the starting lineup for the Champions League clash against Rennes tonight before being diagnosed with the coronavirus.

Hence, he will go into self-isolation in his residence and may not feature for the west London giants until after the November international break.

The Blues are on four points after two group stage games and that sees them top of the table on goal difference over Sevilla.

They have been in a good run of form of late with back-to-back wins in all competitions while their defensive record has also improved.

Lampard's side have kept four clean sheets on the bounce and they will be aiming to preserve the good form against Rennes in the Champions League tonight.
