Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has said that Thiago Silva is likely to miss Saturday's Premier League clash against Newcastle United at St James' Park.
The Brazil international was recently on World Cup qualifier duty and he helped his side keep clean sheets against both Venezuela and Uruguay.
Owing to the long distance, Silva only made his return to London on Thursday afternoon and Lampard has revealed that he may not feature on Saturday.
"Thiago Silva has just landed, he just messaged me this afternoon [Thursday], so he probably won't go to Newcastle because of the length of the journey and timings," He told.
Lampard excluded Silva from the matchday squad during the first game after the October international break and it appears that he won't feature against the Magpies this time around.
In his absence, Antonio Rudiger could step up to make his maiden Premier League appearance of the season alongside Kurt Zouma at the heart of the defence.
