West Ham United will make an approach to sign Ivan Toney from Brentford during the summer transfer window.
The 24-year-old joined the Bees from Peterborough United last summer and he has excelled with 23 goals and nine assists from just 28 league games.
According to Eurosport, the Hammers have been impressed with the forward's output and they have identified him as the top summer target.
The east London outfit parted ways with Sebastien Haller in January, but manager David Moyes decided against making a panic replacement.
They are prepared to wait until the summer to pursue a new marksman and appear determined to land the former Newcastle United man.
The Hammers have a good working relationship with the Bees and they recently signed Said Benrahma on a permanent basis.
The Bees are currently top of the Championship table and they are regarded by many as one of the favourites to secure promotion.
The club have not played in the top tier of English football for more than seven decades. They missed out on promotion through the play-off final last term.
