Arsenal youngster Folarin Balogun is on the verge of signing a new contract with the Gunners, a report from The Mail claims.

  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players
  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts

  • The 19-year-old has yet to make his Premier League debut for the Gunners, but he has impressed in the Europa League with two goals and one assist.

A number of clubs have been circling for his signature with his contract expiring in June, but The Mail claims that he has snubbed their advances.

Balogun was leaning towards a summer departure due to the lack of game time, but he has been convinced to stay by head coach Mikel Arteta.

He is expected to sign a new long-term contract in the near future with the assurance that he will become a regular with the first-team next term.

The Gunners are planning for the sales of Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah this summer, and Balogun has a good chance to establish himself.

Balogun has turned down the likes of Bayer Leverkusen, RB Leipzig, Manchester City and Chelsea over the past few weeks.
