Manchester City will open discussions with Raheem Sterling over a new contract after the European Championships, The Telegraph reports.
The England international had an average season by his standards, but still registered 14 goals and 12 assists in all competitions.
His end-of-season form was concerning with just one goal from 16 games, but he recently starred for his country.
Sterling bagged the only goal for the Three Lions on Sunday as they beat Croatia in their Euro 2020 opener.
It is now reported that the Cityzens are ready to discuss a new deal with Sterling, whose contract expires in June 2023.
The attacker also wants to sort out his future, and does not want to act as a bargaining chip for Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane.
It was recently claimed that Sterling could be offered as a makeweight in the club's bid to sign the Three Lions captain.
The Cityzens won the Premier League title with ease last term, but they are still looking to bolster the squad further.
Aside from Kane, Aston Villa's Jack Grealish has emerged as a top transfer target for manager Pep Guardiola this summer.
